On Saturday, April 30 we packed up and headed for Camp Shalom in Mound City, Kan., for a 1-night retreat to kick off the beginning of the season. Before heading out to Camp Shalom, we did the "War Memorial Run" where we ran from Union Station to the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Mo. Upon arriving at Camp Shalom, we played basketball and hung out with the camp staff, including a 99-year-old missionary that the team was able to meet last summer as well. We then helped the Camp Shalom staff with a few work projects around the property. The night ended with a bonfire, more basketball, and other team bonding activities.

It is always great to start a season with a retreat to ease off the minds of the members of a team. It is a great way to reminisce about the last season and plan on what are the adjustments that they to do in the new season. It is also a way to be closer to each and every member of the team. Helping out in the camp is such a wonderful thing to do because you were able to help the staff and lessen their work. Hoping you will have a great season.

Retreat is one of the best way to know more of your friends and also the best way to know more about yourself. i find it weird at first because I thought that it will only talk about religion and such, but the retreat I had is very different. I started going into retreats alone because of too much curiosity until I go back there every time and meet new friends. It is so good to know more people and to know more about myself. It feels like I am growing continuously.

Very nice and interesting idea to create a retreat to Camp Shalom. It's very good, when young people can spend time together, have different activities and get more new friends. On photos possible to see, that all people are very happy and they spent fantastic and positive time all together.
